Getting "We can't reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later." error after Windows deactivated without hardware change.

I activated Windows 11 using the same hardware that I currently have in my computer. Earlier today I noticed that Windows had deactivated for some reason, stating that I had changed hardware although I have not changed anything. When I go through the troubleshooter to reactivate, I click on my computer in the menu and I am immediately given the message "Unable to activate Windows. We can't reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later." Why did Windows suddenly deactivate, and how can I reactivate it? I purchased a license linked to my account less than two weeks ago, I do not want to buy it again like it is asking me to.

Edit: Error code is 0xC004F211

I recommend getting a refund for the online version if possible, it does not seem like this Microsoft is putting much effort into resolving this issue. I was luckily able to do this and get an actual Windows 11 key and this worked fine.

If you can’t refund, I recommend finding somewhere online to get a cheap Windows 10/11 key to avoid supporting Microsoft after this. You can find a list of Microsoft-approved vendors that you can buy one from for relatively cheap. (Or use other, cheaper, websites that have good track records for selling keys. I’m not your mom.)

Hi Ferds_N, I just tried this again and it still did not work. Here is the error that appears when I select my device on the "Changed Hardware" screen:

I also tried to update my system, but it is currently up to date with the latest version of Windows 11. I will try calling Support as my next step.

Edit: Here is a picture of what the troubleshooter shows when I first use it:

Hi Ferds_N, thanks for the reply! I purchased my Windows 11 digital key through the Windows Store.

Here are the results of "slmgr -dli" and "winver", respectively. I have blocked out my partial product key.

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.

Please let me help you out with this concern.

I understand that you are having issues with your license.

May I please know where you purchase the license? Is it from Microsoft Store or a third party store?

And to know the exact license you have on your machine, please follow the steps below.

Please click Start menu, then type in CMD, right click and run as administrator.

Then on the command prompt window type in

    slmgr -dli

This will show the kind of license that you have. It can be one of three types: Retail (FPP (Full Packaged Product)), OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), and Volume Licensing. The last type is usually for organisations that have multiple license keys and are not for resale. It is the type that is most often used for pirate copies of Windows.

If it doesn't work with that command, type in this command instead then press enter.

    slmgr /dlv

and then please copy and paste the result in our conversation. Thanks!

To check if your copy of Windows matches the key you have please

Tap on Windows Key and the letter R on your keyboard to open the Run box, and in the Run box type winver then press enter, please copy and paste the results here. Thanks!
