I got a very powerful gaming pc for about 5 months now and when I started to play games again like fortnite after months of not playing, the game would crash after 30 to 60 minutes or so, unreal engine would say the game has crashed. So I ran it again and after 30 minutes it crashed. This happend about 7 times when playing fortnite on the highest settings possible. After the 6th time I even downgraded my settings but it would still crash after 30 minutes.

The next day I went to go finish the campaign of cod AW also again on the highest settings possible and after 30 to 40 minutes it crashed twice again. Then today I played AW again and it crashed once after 30 minutes then I played cod ghost and after only playing 15 to 30 minutes the game crashed also on the highest settings.

I have everything updated my gpu drivers, windows settings, etc but nothing worked this has been an occurring issue now and I don't know how to fix this. Below our my specs of my pc and I have very powerful hardware that can play Aw, ghost, and fortnite on max settings especially the old cod games so I don't know why games are crashing. This has never happened before when I used to play games. Any advice to fix this would be appreciated.

Thx for looking

    Hello Adrian Cosio,

Thank you for coming back to us,

Thank you for your additional information and let's work together to solve this problem.

    Analysis of the first picture:

The error involves a local activation permission issue for the COM server application. The involved CLSID and APPID are {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} and {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}. An error message indicates that there was a problem in assigning privileges to the user DESKTOP-3EHHOLF\NoobMaster55.

Event analysis of the second picture:

This error log points to a faulty module called nvwgf2umx.dll, version 31.0.15.4617. The module belongs to the NVIDIA graphics card driver, and the exception code 0xc0000005 indicates an access conflict with an offset of 0x0000000001478a8b

As far as this error log is concerned, the problem is related to the nvidia graphics driver, the usual solution is to reinstall the graphics driver, check the hardware, run the sfc tool, update Windows, combined with the information you provided earlier, I understand that you have tried some of these solutions.

0xc0000005 There may be a number of reasons why the hardware may not work properly or is incorrectly configured. File corruption of the operating system, including incorrect or invalid registry keys, missing or incomplete DLL files, or corrupt system files and configurations. Malware interference can also cause this problem.

So trying a clean boot is something I highly recommend you try to do to eliminate interference from third-party applications and virus interference.

In summary, combined with the error information you provided, you can try the following solution:

    1. Just in case, I will provide you with the specific steps of uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics card driver here:

Windows icon right open the device manager, and then expand the "display adapter" after you can see the current computer's graphics card, here we need to uninstall all these graphics card drivers. The specific method is to right-click on the graphics card driver name, and then click "uninstall" -- check "delete the driver software of this device" -- click "OK" -- and then go directly to the official website of your computer brand driver to install the latest corresponding driver, install according to the operation prompts -- shutdown and restart after testing.

    1. Data Execution Protection (DEP) is a Windows security feature that protects your system from damage caused by viruses and other security threats. However, some programs are not compatible with DEP, resulting in 0xc0000005 errors, so turning off DEP is also a viable 0xc0000005 solution, please follow these instructions:

    • Press Win + R to open Run, Enter sysdm.cpl, and press Enter.

    • In the System Properties window, click Advanced and in the Performance section, click Settings.

    • In the window that pops up, click "Data Execution Protection" and then select "Enable DEP for all programs and services except the programs selected below."

    1. I am not sure if you have tried this system file checker solution, if you have not, you can try it. Try running the System File Checker (sfc /scannow) to fix possible corruption. Please refer to this document link for details:

Repair lost or corrupt system files using the System File Checker tool - supported by Microsoft

    1. Restore the registry

A corrupt registry can cause serious system problems, including error 0xc0000005. If you have backed up the registry, you can restore the registry to resolve the problem. If not, perform the following steps to modify the registry:

Note: Modifying the registry is dangerous to the system, please back up the current registry in advance to prevent data loss due to a system crash.

    • Press Win+R, type regedit, and press Enter.

    • Find the following location in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows

    • Double click "LoadAppInit_DLLs" and change the numeric data from 1 to 0, click "OK" to save the changes.

    1. If you have created the system restore point before, system restore is a good method, but you need to create the restore point in advance when the system is running normally, otherwise it will not be able to use this function. , please follow the following steps:

    • Press Win + R to open Run. Then type sysdm.cpl and press Enter.

    • In "System Properties," click "System Protection," then "System Restore."

    • In the "System Restore" window, click "Next", then select the desired restore point and follow the prompts to complete the restore.

Please tell me the progress of the problem. I will continue to pay attention to this issue and look forward to your reply. Patience and cooperation are highly appreciated.

    Hello Adrian Cosio,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

I understand that you are experiencing a consistent crash of the game, I understand your frustration, let's work together to solve this problem. Combined with your problem description, I understand that this is happening with more than one game on your computer, and since your computer has very powerful hardware, the problem with the game crashing may not be due to low hardware configuration.

It may be some other problems, such as drivers, heat dissipation, operating system, etc., there are some abnormalities. I know you've tried updating gpu drivers, Windows Settings, and more, but here's what I've put together for you:

    1. You can view the log of computer crash during the game through Windows Event Viewer, and provide the error log to me so that I can further analyze the problem for you. To view event logs, perform the following steps:
    • Open the Start menu and type the event viewer. Right-click on it and select Run as administrator; Click Windows Log in the left column; Navigate to the "System" or "Applications" submenu; View "Critical," "Error," or "Warning" entries in the event log (center window)
    1. If your graphics card is too powerful for your computer, causing the game to crash, and after checking for other possible causes, the power supply unit (PSU) may be a potential problem. If the graphics adapter requires more power than is available, the power supply unit may not be able to provide enough power, causing the game to crash.

In this case, upgrading to the best PSU that can provide enough power to play the game is a suitable solution.

    1. I noticed that you have operated the operation of GPU graphics card update and Windows update. But I don't know if you have any other operation on the driver, just in case, I will provide the scheme here:

To update your video driver, visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest version of the driver. Installation may require you to restart your computer. You should also look for any patches and updates for related games.

These are available from the publisher's website and should be installed and applied before running. Some games will automatically check for updates and install them before loading.

Update the operating system to download any driver updates for devices such as network cards.

    4. clean boot can starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It can be used to determine whether a background service or program is interfering or causing a problem.

These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step.

    1. Crashes may occur when network issues cause delays in remote server updating game clients. Avoid this problem by making sure your network speed is suitable for playing games.

Change the network environment, for online games, Ethernet is a better choice, in addition, you can try to change another DNS server, as follows:

    • Win + Q to open the search box, enter 'ncpa. cpl', press Enter to open the "Network Connections" window, select your network adapter, right-click >  "Properties", double-click "Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IP)", then Set Predderred DNS server to 4.2.2.1,and set Alternate DNS server to 4.2.2.2
    1. If the problem is caused by a disk error, you can use the chkdsk method to check and repair the disk error.

More information please refer to this chkdsk | Microsoft Learn.

Disclaimer: Run chkdsk to check the volume's file system and file system metadata for logical and physical errors. To avoid unnecessary troubles, perform the preceding steps step by step, do not interrupt or cancel the running, and back up important data.

Please tell me the progress of this problem. If you have any questions or additions about this problem, please feel free to reply below. I will provide you with further technical help and look forward to your reply.

    1. Hi, so when I went to event viewer, and I went to the exact same time I believed I played I got a lot of these warnings spread out during the time I was playing, Note. this is a different game I am playing that crashed yesterday that's called "last of us" that has played well before with no issue but now there is. below is the system tab of the even viewer

    Image

And this one is the application which I believe is this one. I have multiple errors with this about 5 of them

    Image

    1. I have an 850-watt psu that I had no issue when playing games before until now, so I don't believe it's the psu because this has never happened when playing on the exact same game settings.
    2. I have updated my drives for my GPU via GeForce experience, windows update, and ASUS Amory crate SE.
    3. I haven't done a clean boot yet I saw some post that says to do that, but I haven't tried it yet I'll try when I get home from work.
    4. My internet is more than capable for playing games and I have changed my DNS to Cloudflare DNS "1.1.1.1 1.0.0.1" so I don't believe it's the internet either.

Also, when I was playing last of us last night and it crashed, and I launched it again I didn't read the whole thing but last of us said that the game could've crashed because of GPU problems. I've also seen other posts of people games crashing and they said that it could be GPU related and that to do a clean install the of the GPU drivers.

Thank you for replying to my post I look forward to seeing your response to fix my issue..
