I have been using the same headset for 2 years ...the hyper x cloud alpha wireless.
It connects wirelessly to the dongle that came with it which plugs into a USB port.
I don't use the Hyperx Ngenuity App to control Equalization, and I don't want to so please don't reply saying I should!
Instead, for years, I've been using the standard USB audio device driver so that I can use the enhancements tab under my headphones properties.
HOWEVER, all of a sudden the enhancements tab, which does show, is empty. There's no enhancements to choose from...
This is very strange! I have been using loudness equalization under enhancements for years. It should look like this.
I have tried everything from uninstalling the device, updating the driver, even reinstalling windows 11. When I try to reinstall the driver this is the only option I can choose from the list of available drivers that is compatible.
I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. Is there a different driver I should be using that has actual enhancements in the enhancements tab? Maybe this is the wrong driver and I installed it by accident after trying to reinstall?
This is so bizarre... I don't know what to do at this point. Please help
...and please don't reply with how to get the enhancements tab to show ...it's already showing... that's not the problem!

My friend,
Meanwhile, Windows 11 updates c-media on its own. No matter which version I installed, the sound enhancement options did not appear. I don't know who is to blame, Asus or Microsoft, but I need this and I can't use Windows 11. Even though my computer only has a Windows 11 driver, I am using Windows 10. I don't have such a problem in Windows 10, no matter what driver I install.
Hello my friend.
I am using an Asus Laptop and I have the same problem. I opened a thread on reddit for this.
Unfortunately, Microsoft's help pages do not respond professionally. Some technology forum sites provide much more solution-oriented answers. Microsoft's answers are very simple and basic. It won't be useful for many people.
I came across this for the solution. If you are using Windows 11 22H2, yes there is this problem. But when I updated to Canary version, this problem disappeared. I think it's from Microsoft.
I often play pubg. So important feature for me.

Check if your Asus TUF A15 2022 Laptop has installed the C-Media audio driver (version 2.xxx), anything that looks like 10.0.22xxx. is Microsoft's generic audio driver. Usually enhancements tab only shows up when you are using windows generic audio driver.
All you may have experienced is that you install canary windows 11 and it didn't install the c-media audio driver. So you are left with the windows generic audio driver. Probably nothing to do with canary windows 11 "fixing" your problem.
If you have a windows 11 laptop and you have muffled sound, 99% of the problem is AI noise reduction. They are not in the usual places like realtek audio console so nobody can find them to turn it off.
