How to stop games saving to OneDrive?

All my games are saving to my OneDrive documents folder. How do I stop this? I want my actual documents (such as PDF and Word) to be synced with OneDrive, but not my games, which should only be saved locally and don't belong in the documents folder at any rate.

This is REALLY stupid. If you have a desktop and a laptop you absolutely HAVE to stop syncing the Documents folder because it will sync the games information between the two devices and they NEED different files to store configuration information about screen resolutions, etc. Yet, you obviously DO want to sync actual documents. It's been an ongoing problem since OneDrive first came out. What is wrong with Microsoft that they can't stop this unacceptable behavior? There are MANY ways to allow setup to prevent it.

I'm so frustrated with the outrage that is OneDrive. It has completely ruined my gaming experience. I've spent over a thousand dollars on Sims4 & DLC and I can't even load it now because of OneDrive. I hate it so much. Microsoft deserves to go bankrupt for forcing such a garbage program on us. And no matter what I do I can't get my game to stop trying to save to OneDrive even though I've unlinked all my devices and uninstalled OneDrive everywhere it installed itself. I don't what to do to get away from OneDrive and its many many failures except maybe switch to Mac and be done with Microsft.

Won't that stop the sync of my non-game documents as well? The ones which I actually want backed up.

    Hi,

I'm Rodrigo and I'll help you.

Most games save to the Documents folder, if you have OneDrive backup enabled, it sets the documents folder under the OneDrive folder as the default Documents folder. The only way to stop games from saving to the documents folder under OneDrive is to disable the backup feature for the documents folder since games do not provide any option to change the save location to another folder. This will set back the Documents folder to be under the user folder but will stop the sync.
