Hi. I have a MSI laptop with factory install windows 10. A few days ago I used the windows restore point function to go back vefore some apps updates on my windows and aftar that, my windows doesn't start at all. None of the repair options from windows doesn.t work (startup repair, uninstall last update, safe mode, I tried ALL the options in Troubleshoot). This is my log file from startup repair.

Chatgpt gave me this message: It seems that your system is experiencing a rather complex problem, namely, a bugcheck appears with code ef, and the attempt to repair the integrity of system files failed with error code 0x57.

Error code 0x57 indicates that the parameters passed to a Windows API function are not properly validated or are incorrect for the specified operation.

Please help me resolve this problem without using the reset windows or reinstall windows option. I don't want to lose all my apps and personal files from windows drive.

May I know the exact command-line used? Also, I presume you used the correct drive letters in the command-line. If not, Run bcdedit to find the OS drive letter. If you're booting from USB setup disk, run diskpart and list vol commands to find the OS partition's drive letter.

If there are any recent mini dumps in the c:\windows\minidump folder, please share them.

I did again exactly like you instructed in the post.
Nothing found ... "did not find any integrity violations"
The log file is here - https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/x0ymli1j26dzlqr2ouys6/sfcoffline.txt?rlkey=xew3n7cjaxf8oq5npwgnteyx2&dl=0

As per cbsnew.log, only some defender files are corrupt. They're not boot-critical files. The entries are dated 2023-11-20.

So, I'm not sure if you ran SFC (with logging) correctly, as I instructed earlier. You may want to go through my post and the linked article again,.

    <repost>

run SFC offline (with logging). See How to Run System File Checker (SFC) Offline. Share the SFC log on OneDrive.

Or, maybe it's time to backup your files and do a clean installation.

There is no "Undo System Restore" option for my MSI Stealth laptop.
I tried to use the DISM function either with the windows repair source on a stick or with it mounted on D:\ nothing works, the "/online" function not even as long as I can't run the laptop in the operating system, so I have to to access DISM in offline mode.
I tried this several times DISM /Image:C:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:E:\Sources\Install.wim:6 /LimitAccess  (when E is the USB stick with Windows) or DISM /Image:C:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:D:\test\offline /LimitAccess (when D is the mounted version of my USB windows source files)....
    Here are my logs. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uaFUfOBkyJuBtbapY4yTc95HNGxe5rkg?usp=sharing
    I
don't get it why doesn't work?!

    Hi,

Enter Windows RE and access System Restore.

Please see if you get the "Undo System Restore" option.

    .

If so, click on the option and complete the rollback process.

If that doesn't help, run SFC offline (with logging). See How to Run System File Checker (SFC) Offline. Share the SFC log on OneDrive.
