Getting random black screens (for a second or two) since upgrading to a new TV!

This issue has been driving me nuts for a solid week now... I am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to computers. Yet, I can't seem to figure this out. (Unless it's a defective TV or a failing GPU.)

   **Computer specifications:**
  • I am on Windows 10 Home edition OEM
  • Ryzen 5 3600 - 6 core, 3.6ghz CPU
  • (Gigabyte brand) Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU
  • 2 x 16 GBs of Corsair Vengeance 3600 CL 18 MHz ram (32 GBs total)
  • 650W 80 PLUS Gold Certified Power Supply
    **TV models (Old VS. New):**

  • My OLD TV was a TCL 43" - 4k/60hz. The specific model was the "43s455"
  • My NEW TV is a TCL 55" - 4k/120hz. The specific model is the "55q750g"

On my previous TV I only ever had an occasional black screen flash happen, but ONLY when something with a video would try to play. (Which I assumed could be my GPU just being a bit weird.) It never happened when I was just sitting on the desktop though. With the new TV. It happens randomly even when I have nothing open or running. Sometime it won't happen for hours. Sometimes it'll happen every minute or two for a short period of time. Every time it happens, the TV will show my input on the corner of the screen with the resolution/refresh rate info. Like I switched inputs or my resolution changed, even though nothing actually changes. Also, since changing TV's I no longer get the black screen flash while videos are playing. So, it's like I traded that issue for this new one... I have seen some green mixed in with the black flicker as well but it's rare. I also haven't seen this happen with my PS4 just yet, or the home screen on the TV. Seems to be only when using the PC itself. Though I haven't used the TV much on anything else!

I have tried countless things already, such as: Swapping HDMI cords, and swapping which HDMI ports they're plugged into. (Both the TV and my GPU ports.) Swapping power outlets. Ensuring it's not a wattage issue by unplugging other things around the room for a period of time. Updating Windows, updating Nvidia drivers, using DDU to COMPLETELY uninstall my Nvidia card drivers and then reinstalling them. I've tried turning off HDR on Windows. I've tried Lowering resolution and Hz rate on Windows.

I realize this could very well be my GPU causing the issue, but I'm just trying to rule out other possibilities first. Especially considering I've never had any issues with it WHILE playing games. It always ran perfectly fine on games before. With the new TV, it does seem to force the issue to pop up more often from time-to-time. Though there are play sessions that go just fine with no issue. Then others that start the issue almost immediately after launching a game! I've also had several instances where it just dropped connection completely. Saying that nothing was plugged into the HDMI on my TV.

Would a BIOS update be a candidate to solve this? Mine is still running a version from about two years ago. I'm just struggling to find an answer to this, no matter how many articles I look through or how I word it in searches... Any insight would be most appreciated!

I appreciate you taking the time out to give me some advice on this! The main reason I didn't want to use wireless display, was because I'd heard that it can only output 60hz? I would hate to have bought a 120hz TV to just go back to 60 like my old one...

As for the "Windows turning off device" option, I can't seem to find anything like that in my properties for GPU or Monitor. This is what I have access to on both of the options.

    For my monitor...

    And, for my Display Adapter...

I also have the hidden options showing, but don't seem to have anything else extra. Aside from the USB portion, if I should upload a picture of that as well. I tested out a game earlier today. Had no issues with the black flash up until that point. Then it seemed to happen in regular intervals throughout the 40 minute period I was playing the game. I wasn't timing it, but it felt like it was happening at set times, rather than being random. It also completely lost signal at one point. And I had to unplug the HDMI cable from the TV and plug it back in to get the signal back. I should also mention that I was recording my gameplay during this and none of the roughly two second black screen flashes were captured in the video.

Hello. It sounds like a power setting. For some odd reason when windows switches display drivers the screen will go black for maybe 2/3 seconds and sometimes you will hear a bloop bloop like plugging in a usb device There a few things I would try. Go to device manager right click on the monitor/ display / usb choose properties and uncheck the box that says let Windows turn off the device. Choose View hidden devices. Also as a test Choose the device and disable it like I did in the photo below. It should use the basic display driver. This works best on a laptop computer. Also did you forget you have a smart T.V bc you could just use the connect to a wireless display feature.
