Hi
Welcome to Microsoft community.
I understand that you're having booting issues with your computer. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot:
- Check for Overheating: Overheating can cause a computer to freeze or shut down. Make sure your PC is in a well-ventilated area and that the fans are working properly.
- Run a Disk Check: Corrupted system files can cause boot issues. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type
chkdsk /f /rthen press Enter. You may need to restart your computer for the disk check to run. - Run System File Checker: This will check for corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type
sfc /scannowthen press Enter. - Check Your RAM: Faulty RAM can cause freezing issues. You can check your RAM by running Windows Memory Diagnostic. Type "Windows Memory Diagnostic" into the Windows search bar and follow the prompts to run the test.
- Update Your Drivers: Outdated drivers can cause issues with your computer. You can update your drivers through the Device Manager. Right-click the Start button, select Device Manager, and right-click on each item and select "Update driver".
- Update Your BIOS: An outdated BIOS can cause booting issues. You can usually download the latest BIOS from the manufacturer's website. Be careful when updating your BIOS, as doing it incorrectly can cause serious issues. If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.
If you're still having trouble, please provide more information about your system (like the version of Windows you're using and the make and model of your computer) so I can assist further.
