I just purchased the batman arkham trilogy but the games won't run on my laptop even though it has the specs to do so. It's shows directx error everytime I open city or asylum. When I try to install the required directx version which is directx3d it says can't install cuz the newer directx12 is already installed what to do

Nobody's found a solution yet? I downloaded the Arkham pack with all 4 games and can't even play then because of this same issue.

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with running Batman Arkham Trilogy on your Windows 11 laptop due to a DirectX error. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Verify game files: Sometimes game files can become corrupted during installation. Verify the game files in Steam or the game launcher to ensure that all files are present and not corrupted.
    2. Update graphics drivers: Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed for your graphics card. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause DirectX-related issues. You can usually download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
    3. Install DirectX manually: Try downloading and installing the DirectX version required by the game manually from the Microsoft website. You can download DirectX End-User Runtimes from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
    4. Run the game in compatibility mode: Right-click on the game executable file and select "Properties". Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select an earlier version of Windows, such as Windows 7 or 8.
    5. Run the game as an administrator: Right-click on the game executable file and select "Run as administrator". This can sometimes help resolve permission-related issues.
    6. Reinstall the Game: If the game was installed before you updated DirectX, it may not recognize the new libraries. Uninstall and reinstall the game.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

    Best regards
