OneDrive appears to be taking up twice the hard drive space it used to / Syncing issues

In the last week, there seems to have been an update to OneDrive (22.002.0201). As a result, all of my files show two icons ("Always Available on this Device" and "Not Downloaded") which seem to conflict with one another. I don't want to have to manually download every file to be able to have it on my device, and de-selecting file folder and re-downloading them doesn't affect this wonky status.

Then yesterday when I tried to re-install OneDrive, it appears to be taking up TWICE the amount of hard drive space. A scan with OmniDiskSweeper reveals 800GB in "OneDriveStandaloneSuite" and 686 GB in "OneDriveSyncClientSuite." Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

    Hi @Aaron Fung

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Based on my research, your issue at leat the file status conflict seems to be related to "the new Files On-Demand Experience on macOS".

Here is a similar thread, you can have a look, "MacOS Monterey - Disable Files on Demand".

I would suggest you give feedback on Microsoft OneDrive to related developmentt team to help Microsoft engineers have a better visibility on what issues that you’re experiencing with OneDrive and which features are most important to you.

    Thanks for your understanding.

@Emily Hua-MSFT thank you kindly for these links. They definitely sound connected to my problem. The second thread is a little too technical for me as I don't have the requisite skills to do what they're suggesting.

On a related note, do you know have any suggestions on how I can raise a ticket and resolve the fact that the files are taking up double space?
