Most of the times when I open my laptop, the speaker icon on the right side of the taskbar get stuck on mute ( a cross symbol appeared on the icon), but it works when I restart the laptop.

when I open the settings it is showing NO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED/ NO OUTPUT DEVICE FOUND

I've tried troubleshooting, updated all the drivers, and updated windows too ( everything is up to date).

My operating system is windows 11

system manufacturer is HP

SYSTEM MODEL HP Pavilion Laptop 14-ec0xxx

System type x64-based PC

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.

Let me help you with this issue.

I understand that your laptop shows No output device is installed, stopping you from using the audio on your machine.

Please follow the steps below on how to get this fixed.

Delete all the Audio drivers from the Device Manager.

Here are the steps to completely remove a Device from your computer.

Step 1. Use shortcut keys Windows key + X.

    Step 2. Select Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the entry Sound, Video, and Game Controllers Right-click the problematic device it is either Realtek Audio, or AMD High-definition Audio or High-Definition Audio this varies on the audio device installed in your PC, and select Uninstall device.

Please delete all the Audio entries under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.

Step 4. You need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device and then click the Uninstall button.

    Step 5. Reboot the computer.

After the reboot, please see if the problem is fixed.

If that still does not work, please visit support.hp.com and then download and install the latest Audio driver then restart the PC.

    Hi

I have tried everything you've mentioned

I uninstalled all the drivers and reboot my laptop but it does not work either, audio drivers are up to date.

this problem only occurs when I put my laptop to sleep,

I open my laptop and use it for few hours then this problem does not occur/ speaker works fine,

after this when I put my laptop to sleep for few hours,

    then

when I open it from sleep mode then this problem occur ( speaker icon is on mute and can't able to unmute it)

This problem doesn't occur when I start my laptop from shut down or restart

but only when I put my laptop to sleep

when this problem is occur, only two audio drivers are visible under DEVICE MANAGER >> SOUND, VIDEO, and GAME CONTROLLERS

    and those are

    1. AMD audio device
    2. AMD high definition audio device

when this problem is not occuring

there are three audio drivers showing

    and those are

    1. AMD audio device
    2. AMD high definition audio device
    3. Realtek(R) AUDIO

here's screenshot attached if problem is activeImage
