Available wifi networks not showing up. Tried Everything.

Hi, I have a Windows 10 and I am running it on a Lenovo IdeaPad.

When I click on the Wi-Fi button on the bottom right corner, it only gives me the following things:

  • Network & Internet settings
  • Change settings, such as making a connection metered.
  • Airplane mode

Problem is, it does not display any of the available networks, including the networks I connect to often, like my home network. I also tried at my workplace, and it still gives me nothing.

I tried Troubleshooting, but it didn't detect anything. The other day, a colleague helped me out and gave me a wireless network adapter and told me to take it to the repair shop, that there was something wrong with my internal network adapter, but I was hesitant to spend that much money. I looked through the Microsoft Support forum on similar problems and I tried everything, but nothing worked, until I went through:

Settings > Network & Internet > Network reset. This worked yesterday, but when I experienced the problem again today, it was not effective, I tried everything else, so I gave up and decided to post this question.

So, the questions I have:

  • Who else is having the same problem as me?
  • Who is able to help me?
  • Are there solutions that have worked for others with the same issue?
  • Is the issue permanently fixable?
  • If not, is it worth taking it to a repair shop, or even getting a new laptop?

For helping me,

Thanks in advance :)))

    Hi John,

Thanks for the quick reply!!! You're actually the best!! A lifesaver!!

I used your method, (even though I got it from another source), and it worked, but just wondering if it is temporary, and is there a more permanent fix?

    Thanks!!
