Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting and not showing the icon to access the networks.

Hello,

I am having an issue with my Laptop Wi-Fi card (Asus TUF 15, MediaTek MT7921), it constantly disconnects and it is impossible to make it appear again, my easiest fix is to put the laptop to sleep and it starts working again, but the problem reappears after some minutes, this problem happens even if I have the charger plugged in, what I tried so far:

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers from device manager.
  • Modifying the entire settings about power management to avoid Windows or Asus to disable it while in use.
  • Restoring the BIOS to default settings.
  • I am using my phone as a hotspot since (I think, not sure) this problem only happens when my computer is connected to my room Wi-Fi, or at least it is more common, as I a don't use other networks frequently, it is not possible for me to ensure that. Working with my computer connected to my phone works until now, but I would like to fix the problem on my laptop.

I was having this problem before and others as well so I decided to format the OS but this problem didn't disappear and I am not sure if this is a hardware problem or maybe my Wi-Fi network manager is doing something weird, but I am not sure if this is even possible.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks for your help, I tried what you said and it didn't fix it, but I noticed that the problem mostly happens when I move the laptop, so it may be a hardware issue.

    Hello Xavier Aramayo.

Thank you for contacting our Microsoft Community !

Your problem is that Wi-Fi automatically disconnects and does not show the icon to access the network.

Please try the following solutions to see if it works

    (1) Press Win and R keys on your computer at the same time, open Run, type services.msc in the input box, enter to open the service window, find WLAN AutoConfig service in the service window, change the startup type to Automatic > Service Status to Startup > Confirm Apply. Check whether the icon is restored and the network is connected automatically.

    (2) You can also troubleshoot your network problems, check the following whether your network has problems, whether it is the network fluctuation of the local operator, you can

Refer to the following link Fix Wi-Fi connection issues in Windows - Microsoft Support

If you still have network disconnection problems after checking the above issues, it is likely to be a problem with your hardware device, you can try to replace the following card to try to reconnect to the network, and then see if you have the same problem. Here's the support link on the ASUS website, you can also consult the hardware issue to see if it's a damaged motherboard or network card.Official Support | ASUS Global

    Hi,Xavier Aramayo

You have mentioned that the problem mainly occurs when I move the laptop, so this may be the computer's network card or motherboard interface is loose, we recommend that you contact the official ASUS after-sales technical support oh, you can refer to the response above
