Hey there,

Recently, I have not been able to use wired headphones on my laptop. The audio works but the mic is not working. My device is an Asus Vivobook 14 X409FA-EK555T, running on Windows 11. The headphone mic does work on other devices.

Please help me as it used to work before but not anymore.

    Definition:

    Headset has integrated microphone.

    Headphones don't have microphone.

Plug in your headset, then select headset in the realtek audio console. Lightly tap your headset mic, the signal meter should jump.

    Hello, this is Emily.

    1. Hold down Windows + R keys, type in mmsys.cpl and hit enter. Then go to the Recording tab. Do you see the Headphones' microphone? If so, please make sure it is not disable (you can right click to enable it). Also make sure it is set as default device. Then double click on the microphone, go to Levels tab, make sure it is not muted.
    2. Go to Windows Settings > Privacy > Microphone, make sure allow apps access is turned on.
    3. Install audio driver from computer manufacturer website. This is a direct download link from Asus's official website: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Image/Dri... Download and install it, and restart the computer to see if it helps.
