My laptop keyboard doesn't work because the HID Keyboard Device can't start (you can see it in the image).

    Hi Dao,

    I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

    You have 3 instances of the HID keyboard in the Device Manager, can you try to uninstall them and restart the PC?

    My Norton Driver Updater changed my HID Keyboard Driver to Microsoft Driver 10.0.22621.2506.

    My laptop keyboard stopped working completely. Luckily, I didn't try to restart my laptop and I was able to Revert to the previous driver (Microsoft Driver 10.0.22621.1 from 20 June 2006. I believe a hacker got into Norton and changed the driver protocols. I see the same Driver Version being installed for RealTek Audio and malfunctioning laptops of many.

    The simple solution is to Revert back to previous version and 'Skip' the driver update.

    If you have a Restore Point saved, use it. You can access this using a Reboot USB Drive or Disk that you can create with Windows.

    Okay, please try the following methods.

    1. Install the latest Windows updates
    2. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

    Open Settings => System => Troubleshoot => Other troubleshooters =>Keyboard => Run.

    1. Uninstall the keyboard Driver then restart the PC. Windows will automatically install the driver.

    Open Device Manager >. click Keyboards > right-click Keyboard driver > click Uninstall device >

    Then close Device Manager and restart PC.

    1. Use System File Checker to check and fix corrupted system files that may be the cause of the issue. Please refer to the link.

    Thanks for spending your time helping me!

    The first and 2nd Hid Keyboard only appear when i plug in my keyboard and they work well so i can still use my plugged-in keyboard. But the 3rd Hid Keyboard Device cant start as u can see in the image(device not started), so my laptop keyboard cant work. I try everything but cant fix.
