Intel i7 3610QM and Windows 11

Hello,

I have a Samsung laptop running an Intel i7 3610QM, 16gb RAM etc. and Windows 11 can’t be installed.

It meets all the technical requirements for Windows 11 so it doesn’t make sense that it’s not on the supported processors list.

I read somewhere that it is too unreliable. This isn’t my experience, having never suffered any problems or failures.

Can you please explain how I can install Windows 11 on my laptop?

Paul.

    Hi Paul,

    I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

    Windows 11 only runs on computers that have 8th generation processors or above, your computer's processor is 2nd generation.

    If your computer does not meet W11 system requirements, Installing Windows 11 is not recommended. If you choose to install Windows 11 on ineligible hardware, you should be comfortable assuming the risk of running into compatibility issues.

    Done this?

    If it passes;

    To upgrade an existing win10 system to win 11, even if the system passes health check requires not least editing Bios settings, Secure Boot, TPM, convert MBR to GPT (the latter requires a paid for third party utility, unless a clean install)

    Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

    If a new PC with win10 pre-installed when first setup, that the maker states “ready for Win11” then it can be installed via win update.

    If a branded PC or Laptop, ensure Bios/Driver updates have been installed from the PC maker, there may be an update shortcut, then run the SFC/DISM process. If a self-build update from mobo makers site.
