How do I add an input device in Windows Pro 11 RDP?

Good morning, I’m trying to listen to a radio over RDP using Windows Pro 11. Under:System-Sound-Input… there are “No input devices found.”

Under:Device manager-Audio inputs and outputs, I only have remote audio

NOW, under Sound, Video and game controllers: Intel (R), Synaptics, USB audio.

I’m trying to get my USB device to be recognized as an Input under when in RDP.

Anyone have any advice?

If you want to choose the audio output on your system, you can follow the below steps:
1- Locate and select the volume icon adjacent to the clock on your screen
2- Find and click on the arrow that’s next to the volume
3- Choose the audio device you prefer to use for output

    Hope this helps

Ok, I’m getting audio. However, I’m not able to receive the audio supplied by an input device that is on the remote computer. For example, when using a microphone, I’m unable to listen to it because I’m unable to select the audio input device.

Thank you SO MUCH for your prompt reply. I completed the required task. However, the sound player still reverts to “remote audio”.

    Hello,

I'm Tiaen and I'm an independent advisor in this community and here to help you.

I'm sorry for having this issue.

1- Enable sound in a virtual machine when connected using RDP:

    Right-click Start and click Run.

    Type gpedit.msc, and click OK.

    Expand Local Computer Policy.

    Expand Computer Configuration.

    Expand Policies.

    Expand Administrative Templates.

    Expand Windows Components.

    Expand Remote Desktop Services.

    Expand Remote Desktop Session Host.

In Device and Resource redirection, enable Allow Audio and Video Playback Redirection.

    Restart your PC

2- open Remote Desktop, then press “Show Options.” Now click the “Local Resources” button. Under “Remote Audio”, press “Settings.” Ensure that Remote Audio Playback is set to “Play on this computer.” To enable the microphone, you'd like to change the “Remote audio recording” options.

Please share with me the results.

    Best regards
