The newer Windows updates have a flaw where its speakers provisions I guess from Realtek can come into conflict with the sound system/speakers of another device connected or otherwise operational on your computer. Keep in mind there would have apparently been no problem on your computer before prior to the update. In my situation, it was a Logitech webcam. An older model webcam did not create a conflict but a later model with speaker capability did. What another user recommended was going into "device manager" and running through all the things connected to your computer that could be causing the conflict and then selecting the "disable device" option. After you do that wait 30 seconds or so and the sound on your computer should come back on. I am posting here because this answer is elsewhere but the search parameters would be so specific that you would probably never find it. When I looked around these were the page responses that came up the most.
My sound is not working after updating Windows 11
My HP laptop no longer has sound - the speaker icon has an x and when I go to my sound settings it says I have no output or input devices. Yet when I go to device manager, under "sounds, video and game controllers" it says that I have Intel(R) Display Audio.
My laptop was working fine before, I had speakers and a mic and now I have nothing. What do I need to do?

2023-07-23T20:23:57+00:00 Hello ! I'm Aymeric, and I'm here to help !
It seems like there's an issue with your sound driver. Go to the manufacturer's support website (HP in your case) : https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Click on "Laptop" and enter your laptop serial number. Select the OS you're currently running, and click on "All drivers".
Look for the audio drivers in the list, and then, download and install it. Once done, reboot your PC. You should have the sound back.
Feel free to ask if you have any other question !

2023-11-10T11:26:39+00:00 In our organisation we have the same audio issue . Our user laptops are HP 250 G9 and 3 users are affected as of now.
Checked in event viewer>Found audiosrv.dll is affected
Troubleshooting done.
1.Device Manager>Realtek audio>Uninstall driver. Then Scan for hardware changes- Didn't work
2.Manufacture's website>downloaded audio drivers. Tried to install from the packages. Didn't work. Please find a solution as this is going to affect other users in the coming days.

2023-07-25T21:19:11+00:00 You can choose Windows 10, it does not matter in this case. Windows 11 is a free upgrade from Windows 10, so every software made for Windows 10 will work on Windows 11.
