Messenger calls taking over all sound volume controls Windows 11

My Messenger call seems to take control of all my volume sounds on my computer as well as lower all other volume. I have tried what was mentioned in this Post for Windows 10: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/facebook-messenger-lowering-sound-on-all/b01940d3-aae2-4712-8277-10304d0491fc

However the first solution just made it that all volume is evenly loud.

I cannot do the second one as it seems specific to Windows 10.

Any tips to not have messenger

A: not override all Volume,

B: Lower the volume of every other application as well (like what the first solution in above post provided).

Thanks!

Hey I came here from a google search and this was the top result. For future reference of anyone else who came to this with the same issue, it's not Messenger doing it. It's Windows. Go to Settings > Sound > More Sound Settings. Click the "Communications" tab. Set 'When Windows detects communication activity' to 'Do Nothing.'

Mine was defaulting to Reduce by 80%. It was driving me nuts.

Hello Caleb. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

See if the volume adjustments here help:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

That video is for Android and IOS.

However none of the issues stated in that video provide solutions to my issues.

    Hi again Caleb -

    Try this instead:

    https://www.facebook.com/help/www/1543023515959...

Update the Sound controller driver from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads webpage for your exact model.

While there compare to make sure you also have the latest BIOS, Chipset, Display, Network and all other drivers.

If no newer then uninstall the Sound controller driver in Device Manager, restart PC to reinstall it.

Next go into Device Manager, right click Sound controller driver to Upgrade driver, then Automatically.

If nothing newer found in Windows Update then try again but this time choose Upgrade Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick to try all previous drivers queued there.
