Will it require me to enter my password every time I turn on my PC?

Bitlocker to go:

If I encrypt an USB flash will I be able to use it decrypt it on windows home edition or on older versions of Windows like windows 7?

No you need the enterprise version of windows 7 for that.

But you can use windows 10/11 home to access the drive. You cannot encrypt the drive on home edition of 10 and 11 though.

    Hello there,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

You need to have pro version of windows for bitlocker.

Here is how to enable it on the suitable version of windows : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/tur... (use the steps under "Turn on standard BitLocker encryption")

No you do not need to enter the unlock key everytime. The key is requested only when a change in security state is detected like your device hardware was changed, any attempts to enter the device by unconventional means was detected or if the device was reset.

Windows 7 enterprise had bitlocker so you will need the enterprise edition to use it.

Normal windows 7 editions do not have bitlocker feature.
