I've watched a YouTube Video and a few other suggestion, tried the "adjust clear type text" and 'advanced system settings' option, also the scaling settings, advanced scaling and so far nothing has changed the blurry text/shadows. Help!!!

Hi again, Lester - seriously, I'm a lost cause!

I right-clicked on empty space on screen, display settings, advanced display settings, but after that, Properties did not show up nor Reset Display settings.

I do know that I've got all Microsoft updates so I'm not missing anything. I did the "sfc/scannow" anyway, but no available updates.

It's kind of like fog, a shadow or smudge.

(I couldn't follow the one minute screenshot video on how to attach an image - way beyond me.)

I do thank you for your patience and appreciate your help, but I think it's all just over my head. I thought it was maybe a really easy fix, but it's proving a bit more technical and I'm out of my element. Thanks again for your efforts!

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Is it like a fog? Just in case you need the instructions on how to attach the image, here it is: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/feedback/fo...

Please also try to Reset your Display Settings:

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop

    Select "Display settings".

Scroll down and click on "Advanced display settings

Under the "Properties" section, click on "Reset display settings".

Click on "Yes" to confirm the reset.

    Next, Check for System Issues:

    Open Command Prompt as administrator.

Type "sfc /scannow" and press Enter. This will scan your system for corrupted files and repair them if found.

Once the scan is complete, restart your PC.

Also, Make sure you have the most updated version of Windows:

Settings > Update & Security" > Windows Update > Click on "Check for updates".

    Install any available updates

    Thank you.

Hi again - nothing happens when I click Device Manager and then Display Adapter. Just sits there, no way to expand. Also I am not tech savvy, and don't have data on my phone so no clue how to send a screenshot. Sorry, I'm just a fossil!

As I said though, the print is normal, but it's like there's a smudge like you'd see if you dragged your finger across wet ink and also little white spots interspersed throughout the text.

Hi Judie. My name is Lester, and I am an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. I'd be more than happy to assist you.

I understand that you're having issues with shadows/blurry text on your Windows 10 PC, and I can see that you've already performed basic troubleshooting without success. When did the issue start to occur? Have there been any changes, such as updates or adjustments to settings, before the problem arose? Is this a laptop?

It's also possible that the issue is related to your display adapter. Please try updating it by navigating to the Device Manager, expanding the Display Adapter, selecting your display driver from the results, and then right-clicking on it. Choose 'Update' > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick a list of available drivers from my computer > Pick an older driver > Restart your PC once done then check.

I hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions. Thank you

Hello Lester - I really just noticed this problem with the shadows on my computer last night. It's a PC, not a laptop. The print iteself is clear but there are blurry dark shadows and white spots throughout the text. I haven't gone into Device Manager yet. Do you think that I should? Thanks for your response.
