I cannot run games that use Directx11 even though I have Directx12 installed.

I just recently built my first pc, it has an AMD 7600 GPU and a Radeon 7800xt GPU. The GPU has Directx12 enabled, (I checked with dxdiag), but I am unable to play games such as Rainbow 6 Siege and War Thunder because they do not use Directx12. Every time I go to launch either one of the games the launcher loads for a few moments then shows me an error message that reads something along the lines of your graphics card does not support dx11 features. War Thunder shares a similar message but it instead shows dx10 as the problem. I have tried everything that I can find on the internet, I have installed and run the dxwebsetup, I have tried to download directx11 separately, I have checked my GPU's drivers, and checked the integrity of what seems like every file on my computer. And yet I cannot find what the issue is. Any and all help is much appreciated, I just want to move past this and get back to playing games.

Thank you for the screenshot, there is nothing wrong with your hardware.

DirectX 12 is fully backwards compatible to DirectX 11, so there is no need to be installing DirectX 11.

The best first option will be to completely remove the current graphics card device driver using the widely available free DDU utility, then restart your PC and go to the support page for your PC on the manufacturer's website to download and install their recommended version of the graphics card device driver.

A slightly older version of that driver is more stable than the latest version.

99.9 % of All my Games Issues are Related to the D3D12Core.Dll files. So i swap them out after a game decides to change them or windows reverts the original back to its normal state etc.. For instance Diablo 2 Resurrected only Likes Dx11 and only one old file works. Unfortunately it gets over written from newer triple a games. So i keep the old one handy. Problem solved. Game makers should make it easier on those people without the tech savvy backgrounds.

Microsoft is aware of this issue and should eventually correct it. It concerns Win11 as well.

Hello Dave. I am also having a similar problem. I can not run games such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint because they both crash after a few seconds of pressing play. I have looked at the minimum requirements and the only thing I saw different was that I have a DX12 and the requirements state that you need a DX11. I'm not sure if this is related at all but if you might know anything about why this doesn't work I would love to hear it. Thank you. Also I will look into the solution that you have provided but I just wanted to see if I missed anything else.Image

I have already looked at this, although I'm sure I could've missed something.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Click your Start Button, then just type dxdiag and press Enter.

On the resulting DirectX utility, select the Display Tab

Please provide a screenshot of that Display Tab.
