Hi.

My win11 mini pc no longer has audio whej connected to my toshiba smart tv via hdmi cable.

It worked perfectly well 2 days ago, now its just stopped suddenly. It affects all aspects of the pc, every app, notification and media player.

It DOES work with the 3.5mm audio jack connected to a speaker. Just not hdmi.

I have tried without success...

  • Checked audio is not muted and volume is turned up
  • Restarting pc
  • Running audio tests (audio indicators move when test audio is played, but no sound comes out)
  • Changing hdmi cable
  • Changing hdmi port on tv
  • Changing hdmi port on pc
  • Updating drivers for tv and pc
  • Deleting and reinstalling drivers for tv and pc
  • Running windows troubleshooters
  • Resetting pc, keeping personal files
  • Totally resetting pc to factory default

I don't have another monitor or tv to test but I don't think the issue is my tv as connecting my laptop and ps5 to the hdmi ports works perfectly.

Would love to get some help as the only reason I have this pc is to stream sports on my tv 😔

I bought a mini PC for my garage so I could watch music videos and movies and I hoped hoped to control the computer stuff and over the air TV with an HDMI splitter.

Everything works but my HDMI audio from my computer.

Yesterday, I spent a half an hour chatting with Windows help, and we tried all kinds of things to no avail

Finally, the guy said it was probably my TV but it’s not

There are lots of questions and fixes for this problem, but I haven’t seen anyone say that any of them worked.

Did the instructions posted work for you?

    Hello Lazydog11.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Regarding to your information I assume that your computer can't play any sound through your TV that connects to the HDMI port.

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics card drivers? If you are using HDMI to connect to your TV, the audio output should be through

the graphics card's sound card. Please go to the Device Manager (right-click on the Windows logo) and check under Sound, video and

game controllers for any audio drivers related to your graphics card. If you don't see any, please obtain the audio drivers from the manufacturer

of your graphics card and install them. Additionally, I recommend disabling all other output devices in the

Settings -> System -> Sound -> More sound settings -> Playback.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

What are you showing for an audio output. HDMI depends on an output using the output device, such as Nvidia or Intel or whatever the origin HDMI device is?
