How do I get rid of the above-mentioned failed update on the Windows Update page? Update History shows software was successfully installed.

I am running Windows 11.

Windows for home | Windows 11 | Windows update

Please check if you can still use the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the driver update. Window Update won’t install hidden drivers or updates. Run the troubleshooter then please try hiding the Realtek - SoftwareComponent driver update that will show in the list. You may try restarting your pc if it helps.

    Edge refuses to download that , saying it cannot be downloaded securely.

    Note: It is always recommended to download and install drivers from the manufacturer's Support page. If you're not experiencing any hardware issues, there's no need to install this driver update.

    Please try this if it helps.

    Open Windows Update settings

    Under Pause updates, select Pause for 1 week

    Restart your computer

    After that, open Windows Update settings

    Click Resume updates

    Please check if this fixes the issue
