How can you get Canon EOS Utility to work on Windows 11?

I have purchased a new desktop that runs on Windows 11. I can no longer download images from my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera using EOS utility even though I updated to the latest version (EOS 3.15.20) and updated the firmware to version 1.4.0. When I connect my camera, the EOS screen comes up, then momentarily the screen where you can select which photos to download comes up but a message flashes up "The connection was lost" and it shuts down. It worked perfectly on my old Windows 10 desktop. How can I get it to work on Windows 11?

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out! I'm Microsoft user like you.

    1. Disable any Antivirus program or Windows firewall you may have for temporary purpose.

    Please download EOS Utility 3.16.11 from Canon which is supported for Windows 11 and firmware up to 1.8.0.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply and providing Information and screen shot.

    It seems that your Camera device model may have some compatibility issue with Windows 11. In this case I request you to please connect with Cannon support if there any other compatible versions are available.

    Best Regards,
    Prakash

    Hello. O nice camera. Wow imma sound old even tho I am 39. In 2011 The best camrea i owned was a Nikkon P500. I was going to buy a camera like yours but it was too expencive for me mainly the lens cost not the camera. Do you know if yours has a blue tooth option? There is a compatablity troubble shooter that you can run on Windows 11. It go's backwards to Windows 7. I am actually Glad that Windows has this they also do it for xbox too. I will just assume you are in the "uk" region. Uhhh the best way I can say it is for some odd reason there is an EOS 3.17.0 in the uk release page but....... For my country the EOS 3.9.0 is released.

    I will Post what compt mode looks like so you can find it >>

    I will drop it below>>

    Website=3.9.0

    Thanks Prakash for continuing to try to help. I downloaded EOS Utility 3.17.0 for Windows and installed it with my firewall and antivirus turned off. When I connected my camera, with firewall and antivirus still off, EOS Utility screen came up but hung. When I restarted my computer and tried again with firewall and antivirus on, I got "The connection was lost" message again.

    When I clicked on your 2nd link I got the message that there was no driver for EOS 5D Mark IV for Windows 11 (see screenshot below) which is very strange given that the driver you gave me the link to includes that model. I may end up having to download all my images using a card reader which is what I did in desperation this morning but not ideal.
