Mouse pointer wont move to 2nd screen when its at the top (Windows 11)

Hi guys

I'm having a problem with moving my cursor to the 2nd screen. It doesn't move across to the second screen when I am at the TOP of the screen. It works anywhere else.

The same applies when moving back from my second screen to my primary 1st screen.

I'm using the same screens - this didn't happen on Windows 7.

It's irritating because I often move the mouse across screens from the top (ie closing an application on my 1st screen, then moving to my 2nd screen).

Just to be clear, if I move the mouse fractionally lower than the top, it moves across no problem.

I can't figure out how to fix this and it's irritating me. Can someone help?

I saw a similar question from pointblank0226 in Sep 2021, but it didnt have any remedy on that post https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/dual-screens-cant-move-mouse-across-when-at-the/c40cb1d6-13da-4cee-9eff-00ad8769868a

I had this problem. After coming across this post I decided to simply arrange all monitors horizontally in settings, hit apply and then move them back (3 on top of 2 with 1 to the side) and apply again. The issue was resolved after doing that.

    Hi, SILVERZA!

My name is Caio and I'll be happy to help you today =)

What might be happening is that the displays on Windows Settings are misaligned.

Go to Settings > System > Display and check on the graphic representation of the screens if they're both aligned and with the same size. In case they are misaligned, then use your mouse to realign them by clicking and dragging.

I hope this helps you! Please let me know if I can assist you more.

Yup - same problem here -- turned out to have a small gap in the window placement, resulting in the cursor appearing on the wrong monitor (I have >2) -- with the small gap, I could not move directly from my main, central window to the monitor directly above it (all the same size/resolution) -- fix the small gap (hairs-width) - and it worked fine.

NEVER had this problem in Windows 10 - the windows might be placed slightly askew (eg: not perfectly aligned) but the cursor would still GO TO THE PROPER WINDOW, rather than jump to another window entirely.

So - (a) - glad it is an "easy" fix -- but (b) shouldn't be necessary at all (so what if there is a slight gap?, Win 10 never cared)

And FWIW, all the monitors to the left/right show a small gap that cannot be closed, only the vertical ones can "touch" each other, and if they do not, well then, why would you expect your cursors to work /s

    Thanks for the reply Caio

    But, unfortunately, that doesn't help

On windows settings my displays are perfectly aligned, so it's not that.

If you have dual displays, try see if it does the same for you. Move the mouse to the top on your left display then move your mouse up and to the right (so it keeps being at the top) and see what happens when you get to the end of the display. My mouse pointer disappears and doesn't appear on the right display.

Hoping there is another fix - otherwise this is a bug and I hope Microsoft can fix it

I had same problem, but my display setting was on second monitor and could not change anything... I deleted./uninstalled the driver and rebooted then I had the display window back on main when plugged in on both to change the Identify to make them work.
