Bitlocker Recovery Key prompted every time I shutdown the computer

Hi,

Every time I shutdown my PC and then turn it back on again it gives me a blue text box, with the option "Yes, or No". If I hit Yes, it does nothing and prompts back to the same blue text box, but If I hit "No" I have to enter a bit locker recovery key every single time I open my laptop.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've also tried disabling the bitlocker in the control panel, but for some reason, there is no option for that.

Thanks,

    Hi Ben,

    Thank you for the reply.

I see. I can understand it. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Click the Start/Windows button, type Settings > Open it.
    2. Go to the Privacy & Security tab > Choose Device encryption then toggle the button to turn off the BitLocker.
    3. Wait for the process to complete. Then restart your computer.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the reply Abdullah,

no I have not set the bit locker up by myself, it was done automatically by windows. Every time I open my laptop I need to enter the 48 digit key (by going to the Microsoft retrieve my bit locker key website/page and entering it - the default way).

As of for now, I have set my computer to sleep (hibernate mode) when I hit shut down button, so I don't experience this problem every time I open my laptop. However, this uses battery and I would like to properly shut my laptop down without experiencing the prompt pop up.

    I am windows 11.

    Thanks,

    -ben

Hello Ben! My name is Abdullah, and I will assist you today.

I am sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue. Did you set up the BitLocker by yourself or it was done automatically by Windows? If you have done it by yourself, do you have the BitLocker? How to get to the desktop in case you don't have the recovery keys? What is the edition of your Windows, you can check it via:

    1. Click the Start/Windows button, type Winver, and open it.
    2. Check the edition.

    Thank you.

    Best,

    Abdullah
