I have a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen Edition) AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU and the brightness will not change unless the laptop gets restarted. I have tried doing a factory reset and that did not work either. Thanks

    Hi John

Thanks for your reply. The brightness issue occurs with both the function keys and through the settings menu. No matter how I try to change it, the brightness will not change unless I do a system restart. I have to “set” my brightness with either the settings or function key, but it will only take effect once I restart. So whatever I leave my brightness bar to before restarting is what it will be once restarted.

    Thanks

Thank you for letting me know.

It could be caused by different factors, such as improper monitor driver, corrupted ieframe.dll file, or misconfigured settings. Let's try a couple of things:

    Reinstall the monitor driver:

    > Open the Device Manager.

    > Expand the Monitors section.

    > Right-click on your monitor and select Uninstall device.

    > Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the monitor driver

If issue persists please try to update the graphics driver, this could also help if the graphics driver is causing the brightness issue. You can use the Device Manager to check for updates, or you can download the latest driver from the official website of your graphics card manufacturer

    For AMD Ryzen 7 5800H:

    > If you haven't already, you need to update your AMD using the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition for Windows 11: https://www.amd.com/en/support/apu/amd-ryzen-pr...

    Update the graphics driver:

    > For Graphic update please rely only to your PC manufacturer's support page for your specific model.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions or concerns.

    John J.D.

Hi there, I am John J.D., a fellow Microsoft user like you.

I understand you're having issues with your laptop brightness. Could you share more details? Are you experiencing the issue when trying to adjust brightness using the Fn keys, Quick Access (Win + A), or the Settings menu (Win + I > System > Display)?

This will help me better understand the situation and provide the right guidance.

Let's work together to resolve the issue.

    John J.D.
