    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

I understand the problem you're experiencing. A Windows 10 laptop getting stuck at startup with a spinning circle can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can try:

    1. Force restart your laptop: Press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts down. Wait for a few seconds and then turn it back on. Sometimes a simple restart can solve the problem.
    2. Boot into Safe Mode: If Windows successfully boots in Safe Mode, you can try to troubleshoot the problem from there.
    3. Perform aStartup Repair: When you see the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. From there, select "Repair Your Computer", then "Troubleshoot", then "Advanced Options", and finally "Startup Repair". Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
    4. Use a System Restore Point: If you have a system restore point created before this issue started, you can try performing a system restore. This will revert your system back to a point in time before the issue began. You can do this from the "Advanced Boot Options" menu as well.

Please note that these steps might vary slightly depending on your laptop's manufacturer and model. If none of these steps work, I recommend taking your laptop to a professional for further assistance. Remember to back up your important data if possible before making any major changes to your system.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.

    Best regards

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

I understand the predicament you're in. If you're unable to boot into Safe Mode or attempt a system restore, then more advanced troubleshooting may be required.

    1. Use Windows 10 installation media: You can boot your computer using a Windows 10 installation disc or USB, and select the 'Repair Your Computer' option to access the Advanced Startup Options. From there, you can attempt to boot into Safe Mode or perform a system restore.
    2. Check BIOS/UEFI settings: When your computer is booting, press the F2 or Delete key to enter your BIOS or UEFI settings. Here, you can check and, if necessary, alter the boot order. You may also have built-in diagnostic tools you can use to check for hardware issues.
    3. Check for hardware issues: Issues with hardware such as RAM or your hard drive can cause these types of boot problems. If possible, try testing your computer's RAM or booting the system with a different hard drive.

If these measures still do not resolve the issue, it could be an issue with the hardware itself, in which case, professional assistance may be required.

    Derrick,

Thank you for your reply. I had read the articles on this and have tried the forced restart many times.

It just goes back into the same loop of spinning circle. It will not do anything else. So I can not get it to safe mode of anything else. It just keeps doing this till it gets hot and shuts down to cool off.

Any insight you might have into this would be appreciated.
