I've gone into the settings of everything I can to change my name on my lock screen, but I still get dead named when I sign in. Brinson Faglier is no longer my legal name, it is now Mae Faglier. I would just like my pc to show my name correctly, but it is the only place that it shows incorrectly now, which confuses me. It is changed on my microsoft account and the email associated with it. When I search how to change my name, it leads me to microsoft account info, which is correct? I must be missing something...

Hello, my name is Emmanuel, and I am an independent advisor. I'll be more than happy to assist you today!

I am so sorry to hear that you are having an issue changing the name on your computer's lock screen. I recommend following the steps below:

    1. Kindly press the Windows logo key + R on your keyboard.
    2. Type in the word “netplwiz” (without quotes) and then press the enter key. This will open the “User Accounts” window.
    3. In the User Accounts window, select the user that you want to change the name of and then click Properties.
    4. Under the General tab, type your desired name in the Full Name field.
    5. Click Apply and Okay.
    6. Your computer will require you to sign out of your user account and sign back in. On the sign-in screen, you will see that your name on the lock screen has been changed to your preferred one.

I hope this information can help you.

Let me know if this works for you.

I hope you are happy and satisfied with how I assisted you today.

Have a nice day and keep safe!
