How to find where an app is installed?

I have a VPN installed that I basically use all the time. But Hulu and DIsney+ do not work on a VPN. So, instead of turning my VPN on and off any time I want to use them, I'd like to set up a split tunnel where Hulu and Disney+ bypass the VPN. To do this, I need to select the app in Windows Explorer.

Only problem is, neither of them come up on search or in my Program Files and in Windows Apps there are empty folders for each. Does anyone know where these apps might be or how I can locate them? I've looked in Settings/Apps and though the Apps are listed there, their location is not. Same with when I look at the apps on the Start Menu.

Open Task Manager, then select the Processes tab

Right click one of the column headers and from the resulting menu, enable the Command Line column

Start one of those two apps

In the Command Line column in Task Manager you will see the exact path to the exe for that app.

I installed both apps from the Microsoft Store. When you expand the entry of either one in Task Manager, you should see that it says "Pwahelper executable for Identity proxy" and if you right-click that item and select "Open file location", it will show you that the executable is "pwahelper.exe" which is located in the Edge application folder. And all of that means that both of those are Progressive Web Apps. They don't have their own specific executable since they're essentially web pages. If you expand the Microsoft Edge item in Task Manager, you should see App Hulu and App Disney+ listed there.

That's as far as I'm going with this. I can' tell you if it's possible to get those PWAs working with your VPN, but at least that's a starting point.

Thank you for your reply. Got the command line addresses (both have the same one): C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\pwahelper.exe

I think because they are webapps they are under Microsoft edge. When I put this as the split tunnel application to avoid the vpn it did not work, but it gave me the idea to try the IP addresses for each site. I looked up the IP addresses for each site on Google and added every single IP address to the "bypass VPN" list, but it still did not work. Maybe they just won't work because they're web apps.

Thank you for the help. If you have any other ideas I'm happy to hear them but I don't think it's possible to get anywhere with this.

I've gotten into the WindowsApps folders by changing the permissions - their folders contain only metadata and images, but not the apps themselves.

HI, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Where did you download those apps from, is it the Microsoft Store?

If that is where you downloaded the apps from then they are stored in their own folder inside a highly protected and inaccessible folder :C\Program Files\WindowsApps,
