Windows Explorer file drag icon and transparency
Hello,
when I drag a file on the Desktop, the file icon is transparent but when I drag a file in "Windows Explorer" the icon is not transparent and a part of the application is hidden by the icon (the icon is above), can you change this behavior so that the icon is transparent like on Desktop ?
Thanks

2023-12-07T16:17:37+00:00 Yes, it's a really annoying change (and inconsistency) in Windows 11.
In Windows 10, a dragged icon in Explorer is translucent, just like it is at the desktop.
This is yet another bit of excellent functionality lost in Windows 11. I encourage you to post feedback to Microsoft via Feedback Hub (and yes, I know that's mostly hopeless, but it's all you can do).
FYI, see the discussion below. Note the useless responses from the IA who posted boilerplate "fixes". There is no fix. It's a Microsoft miss in the new Explorer. Microsoft has to fix it.

2023-12-07T15:46:45+00:00 Greetings, Pol! My name is Arif, and I will assist you today.
I'm sorry to hear that you're facing this issue. Could you let me know when this problem started, and was it working fine before?
Please try the following steps:
- Go to Settings > Click Personalization > Select Colors.
- Scroll down until you see "Transparency effects" and toggle it on. If it's already on, try turning it off and then back on.
Warm Regards,
Arif

2024-02-01T02:54:48+00:00 While we wait (and wait) for Microsoft to bring back transparency to dragged icons, the following patch will make dragged icons translucent, like they were in 21H2:
