Windows recognizes all my USB 3.2 gen 2 ports as 2.0

Hello,

I have an Asus ROG Strix x570-e Gaming wifi ii motherboard with 7 x Type A, 1 x Type C ports all of which are USB 3.2 gen 2 on the rear panel I/,O and 2 x Type A, 1 x Type C on the front panel, again all 3.2 gen 2. The PC is running smoothly, however recently I plugged in my Meta Quest 2 like I always do but I was getting the message it was only plugged in a USB 2.0 but it used to show 3.0 just 2 months before when I last used it.

So I unconnected the cable and restarted the PC but in USB tree it shows all my 3.0 root hubs but says all the ports still as 2.0 ,without any cable or device attached. In device manager it shows I have 3, 3.1 extensible host controllers and 3 root hub no errors, the driver shows it was updated on October 2023, which seems to be around the time this problem might have started.

I have Windows 11 23h2 with the latest cumulative update. I have all the most recent chipset drivers and bios. I haven't tried to uninstall the USB controller drivers and reinstall, if someone could walk me through that and i saw thread saying to do a reg edit but i haven't done that either, just need help with the directions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: My PC is once again detecting the Quest 2 & Quest 3 now as USB C 3.0 in the Oculus PCapp. All I did was uninstall then reinstall the USB Host Controller 3.1 extensible drivers and disabled-"all ports turn off devices to save power" in each Root Hub 3.0. My usb 3 flash drive also shows great read/write speeds. Thanks for taking the time to help

    Kind Regards,

    Ben

    Hello,

Thank you for using Microsoft products and posting to the community.

Based on your description, please try connecting a USB 3 USB stick to one of the ports and try copying files. Does the speed match a USB 3 port?

Also, since you have mentioned that you have used "USB Tree" to detect the USB specifications, the result could be inaccurate.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
