i am on a windows 10 pc, recently i noticed a new program in my task manager called endpoint protection service. i also noticed my bandwidth get cut after (ie running second life and mixxx dj software, open a web page and have mixxx stream shut down.) i have gigabit fiber optic internet this should never happen. i can only assume endpoint, as the NEW kid on the block, is causing this. after searching more i found microsoft 365 installed as well (i never installed it) i have uninstalled that as i do not now, nor will i ever need microsoft office or 365 EVER. now to the ACTUAL problem i cannot change ownership, obtain admin privileges or anything else that will allow me to remove, uninstall, and get rid of endpoint on my pc. Please for the love of God stop installing windows products i do not want without my permission.

endpoint protection SDK is actually used by WINDOWS defender and is installed by windows (found this out yesterday from a windows help page) and used by avira antivirus. my PROBLEM is when windows installs a security feature add on i do not want, and does NOT allow me as the PC ADMINISRATOR to delete it.also windows does and has arbitrarily done stuff like this . with the most recent update it reset all my power and monitor settings (i do not have my monitor or pc "power off" after a set time, nor do i run it in "TABLET" mode) don't worry though i am going to have an I.T. person with a masters take a look and destroy it for me. because to put it plan and simple , if it is not an actual windows file or program , in the windows folder, as the builder and installer and operator and administrator of this pc, i should be able to delete, uninstall, and burn any part of it i wish. just like i have for the past 25 years.

I started in Safe Mode and used the Uninstaller and it removed the application.

On 3-24-24, apparently Microsoft updated and put "Reason (RAV) Endpoint Protection" app on my system. I already pay and use ESET which is great for our needs but this new end point protection is apparently blocking an app that I HAVE TO USE for my remarkable2 device.

I have tried uninstalling via Settings, and REVO uninstaller as above. Keep getting a popup box that says "NSIS Error" and in the box it says "Error Launching Installer". I have also tried running the installer directly (all of these as Administrator) and same error.

I would really appreciate it if someone could give me the answer to getting this **** off my OS. I appreciate that they care about my security but if it's auto installing stuff that causes my necessary apps to just plain not be allowed to run, that's an issue.

I tried opening RAV to whitelist the app (as I did in ESET, thinking that perhaps ESET didn't like it) but it will not let me open or see anything in the app, period, even running from explorer in admin mode.

    Thanks

    Hi Wallace,

Use Revo Uninstaller (https://www.revouninstaller.com/) to uninstall the Endpoint program you're referring to.

If that doesn't help, run the Farbar Scanner and share your logs.
