Jewel 2 classic game

Was trying to play this morning when this happened....

I am seeing a very similar problem. Shortly after starting on Level 1, the game suddenly jumps to Level 6. This has only started a week or two ago. I have Windows 10 home, and the same problem occurs with 3 different browsers, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. It remains a problem after reboot, and clearing cache doesn't help (and as with OP, lost my high score). The other games I play, Totemia and Bubble work fine.

I have no problems with any other games, just Microsoft Jewel 2. Clearing all cache and cookies for Microsoft and msn.com did not help, using Firefox browser.

Yesterday, I cleared all cache and cookies again and tried using Internet Explorer with my Windows 10 system and there was no problem playing the game this time. I played it a few times to make sure it didn't give me trouble. What was happening was exactly what is shown below, posted by Scott Riddle. See his screen prints. It is very frustrating. I had always played the game through Firefox browser, but the last few months have proved that I am no longer able. So I guess I'll need to play it using Internet Explorer browser instead.

I hope this helps someone figure out what is the root cause.

I am having a similar problem on my PC. I do not play any other games on my computer.
