Is it only valid for ten days (as mentioned by many), its been a month since i have installed it and it hasnt yet prompted me about that, i am running it after a month and its running. is it free to use for everyone?

and also i have read that it doesnt show up in start menu or on desktop or when you make a search in the menu but i am able to see it when i search MSERT. Can you address if there is some problem.

thank you

    Hi,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Microsoft Safety Scanner only scans when manually triggered and expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Safety Scanner again. It is also recommended that you always download the latest version of this tool before each scan as mentioned in this link:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365...

Regarding removing infections if found, it is best to scan it with the latest version.

You can also, scan for viruses & malware with the free Malwarebytes:

Please do not hesitate to ask if you need further assistance.

    Stay safe.
