My CD player won't open, how do I fix this?

Recently I found an old collection of music CDs lying around and put a few into my laptop. It was fine for a while, but suddenly it stopped reading this one CD (maybe of a lack of incorrectly inputting it, I'm not sure, it seemed like I had put it in correctly when it clicked) and it won't budge. When I go to eject it through the laptop eject command or the eject button, it will not work. No sound, no nothing. I've looked up tutorials online but none of them match my laptop (HP Elitebook). Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Sam. I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

If your CD/DVD tray is stuck, you will need to open it manually. You can do it using a paper clip or SIM card ejector tool, you just need to insert it into the small hole next to the eject button (check the image below) and press until you hear the click and the tray opens.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

Were you able to open the CD/DVD tray using the paper clip?
