    Hello, how are you doing?

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

I'm glad to be able to assist you at this time.

I'm sorry that your Gateway laptop is stuck in a "Preparing Automatic Repair" loop, and you can only access the BIOS.

This can be a frustrating situation, but don't worry, there are still steps you can take to try and fix it.

To begin, please try force system shutdown. This may trigger the system to boot into advanced options, allowing you to access system restore, startup repair, and other troubleshooting tools:

    1. Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force a shutdown.
    2. Repeat this step two or three times.
    3. Check if the advanced options panel will appear.

Is your storage unit recognized by the BIOS by any chance?

If your storage unit isn't recognized by the BIOS, it could be due to a hardware issue with the storage drive or its connection. In such cases, reaching out to manufacturer support or a qualified technician for further assistance is advisable, as you may need to manually evaluate the hardware or replace it.

    Hello.

I understand your frustration with the "Preparing Automatic Repair" loop and appreciate your patience.

To clarify, were you able to access the advanced options panel by forcing a system shutdown?

To help me understand the problem better, could you please confirm whether your laptop's storage unit is recognized by the BIOS?

This information is typically available in the BIOS settings under storage configuration, BOOT, or similar options. If the storage unit is recognized, we can try additional troubleshooting steps, such as running Startup Repair or performing a System Restore with a Windows digital media.

If the problem is indeed related to your storage unit and it is not recognized by the BIOS, resolving it will require tools and technical expertise to open your laptop and conduct a manual assessment. In this scenario, the most advisable course of action would be to seek assistance from a specialized hardware technician.
