Application does not exist but takes storage and shows in settings app

So I recently downloaded Riot Client to play League but realized that it wasn't on the right disk, so I moved the whole Riot games folder from my local disk C: to my other D: however after going in the settings, storage I saw that Riot Client app and that it took 11,8GB. I tried clicking uninstall in the settings app, since I've already moved and deleted everything from my files, but a message error saying "Window cannot find 'C:\Riot Games\Riot Client\RiotClientServices.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." since obviously it doesn't exist in my C: anymore. Now I'm left with an app that doesn't exist but still takes storage and I can't uninstall it and there's also not enough storage left to try to install it on this disk again and uninstalling via settings.

    Hello, Millicent here.

I don't know if you ever fixed the issue, but something that helped me was following the path from my C: drive to the riot client folder. There should be a file named "RiotClientServices.exe.old". Simply remove the ".old" from the file by renaming it, then go into your Settings > Apps > Programs and Features, then uninstall the Riot Client. That's what worked for me, and I got my storage back.

    Have a lovely day!

    Hi,

I had the same problem because I deleted the folder so what I did was re install the riot client again and let League of Legends download completely, after that was done went through the same process of uninstalling the game first then the riot client. It gives the same error of it not being found in the files and followed the rest of Millicent's guide of finding the file and renaming it and worked good for me.

    Hi,

I have been experiencing the same problems as mentioned above. I have already attempted to uninstall the Riot Client through Windows Settings, and I unknowingly deleted the "RiotClientServices.exe.old" out of my files, and recycling bin. Is there anything that I can do? To further elaborate, I do believe my problem is the same as the post mentioned above, as I too, have attempted to transport the Riot Client to an external hard drive in the past.
