Windows not recognizing WiFi antenna

I built a PC yesterday and all was going well until I was trying to set up Windows and it wasn’t recognizing any of the WiFi hardware. As a result I can’t connect to WiFi.

I have two different ASUS WiFi antenna that I’ve tried to use with my PC and neither has shown up on Windows. My bios is updated to the most recent version and all of my drivers should be updated too except for the ones in the WiFi antenna that I can’t check because Windows isn’t recognizing them.

My PC is running Windows 11 Home. According to device manager I only have an Ethernet device. It also shows that everything under the “Other devices” dropdown is missing drivers and there are no compatible drivers on my device.

I haven’t yet tried a connection via Ethernet but while it works it theory it would not be an effective long term solution due to the architecture of my house.

I’ve already tried restarting the PC, turning off fast startup, and trying to use troubleshoot to resolve the issue (which states that “A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken” regardless of whether not there is hardware plugged in).

If you have any suggestions on how to fix this issue please let me know.

I updated the main driver yesterday. ASUS support recommended updating a few other specific drivers which I haven’t done yet

    Hello Greg,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

Try using the ethernet cable and check if windows finds an appropriate driver for the wifi adapter and installs it.

If this fails you may have an issue with the m.2 port that is used for the wifi/bluetooth adapter (I assume the motherboard using this port for the adapter)
