Hello,

Ive been experiencing a very wierd issue on my computer. Whenever i boot up and let my computer run idle, the screen will freeze and i wont be able to do anything but hold down power and restart it. Sometimes it will freeze after 4 minutes, sometimes after running idle for 2 hours. The strange thing is that my computer will NOT do this while i am gaming even when on on high graphics setting, playing starfield or destiny 2. In event viewer, i get event 10016, distibuted com, which ive been told is not a big issue. Its always the issue that appears before my screen freezes though.

I've been experiencing the same thing im my system. After some investigation I guess that my RAM ain't 100% compatible with it. When using another sets of sticks I handnt experienced the same issue, PC ran fine for more than 10 hours in idle, not one freeze in 2 days.

I'm running on Hyperx RAM sticks.

In the compatibility list found in the Gigabyte website:

    https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_b450-aorus-pro-m_pinnacle.pdf

If you search for the part number you cannot find them in the list. I guess that has some to do with the timing of the RAMs, I can be wrong.

    Hi, Martin,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

Usually, this problem is caused by corrupted or outdated drivers. Please provide some more details to help identify what is causing this problem. Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Which is the full model of your computer/laptop or motherboard?

Also, attach a screenshot of the System Information Page:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Run

2-Type: msinfo32 and click on Ok

And a screenshot of the version of the graphics driver installed:

1-Right-click on Start then click on Device Manager

2-Click to expand the Display adapters

3-Right-click on the graphics driver and click on properties

4-Take a screenshot of the General and Driver tab

You can see at this link how to include a screenshot in your post.

DCOM errors are generic in nature and are present on every correctly functioning PC. These events can be safely ignored because they don't adversely affect functionality and are by design. It's the recommended action for these events.

There are some Bios updates on the Asus website which has fixes to "Improve system performance, compatibility, and stability". Installing the latest version of Bios (1603) from this link should fix this problem.

Then you can use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant from this link to make sure you are using the latest version of the Chipset driver.

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support...

Also, there is a new version of the graphics driver on the AMD website released on 12/5/2023. You can use the "Auto-Detect and Install Driver Updates for AMD" from this link to install the latest version of the graphics driver.

Updating these drivers should fix this problem.
