Getting 360 videos to work with Windows Media Player on Windows 11

I got a new computer with windows 11 Pro and it came with windows media player app preinstalled and I can't get this computer to play 360 videos correctly, they only play the video side by side but not in 360 mode. I have also downloaded VLC Media Player and it does the same thing. On my windows 10 computer, there is a button on the media player to change to 360 but the new media player doesn't have that option. How can i make these videos work? I have a 4090 graphics card and running an Intel i9-14900K. Some help would be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

You can play the 360 videos using the "Movies & TV" app.

1-Right-click on the Video

2-Select Open With > Choose another app

3-Select the "Movies & TV" app in the list, and then click on the "Always button"

4-Then your video should be always opened using the "Movies & TV" app and work normally.

If the video is not recognized as 360 video automatically, click on the three dots(...) in the right bottom corner and select "Play as 360 video"

Thank you so much for the reply! This is exactly what i needed. I forgot i used movies and tv app in windows 10 and for some reason changed it to media player. thanks again so much!
