Hi
Welcome to Microsoft community.
I understand you're experiencing issues with your new ASUS Vivobook. This certainly isn't the norm for a new laptop. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to speed up your laptop:
- Check for Malware: Make sure your laptop is not infected with any malware. Use the built-in Windows Defender or any other reliable antivirus software to perform a thorough scan.
- Update Windows and Drivers: Make sure your system and all drivers are up-to-date. You can update Windows by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and clicking on 'Check for updates'. You can update drivers through Device Manager.
- Disable Startup Programs: Some programs run at startup and can slow down your computer. You can disable unnecessary startup programs by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, then going to the 'Startup' tab.
- High-Performance Mode: Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options, and select the 'High performance' power plan.
- Check Disk Space: If your hard drive is nearly full, it can slow down your computer. You can check your disk space by going to This PC and looking at your drives.
- Reset Your PC: If all else fails, you can try resetting your PC. This will remove all your files and apps, so make sure to back up any important data first. You can reset your PC by going to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.
