Hi. No need for screen shots.

Download Windows 11 23H2 from the Microsoft website, link below:

    Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

Select Windows 11 Installation Media and follow the on screen instructions to create a bootable USB stick. As you do this it will format the USB so make sure the USB stick has nothing on it that you want to keep.

When complete, insert the USB stick into your computer then restart. You now need to change the boot sequence on your laptop/computer to "Boot from USB". You do this by opening the BIOS screen as soon as you start your computer. This is usually done by continually tapping the "esc" or an "F " key (top row on your keyboard) when starting your computer. This can differ by manufacturer, so check which one applies to you. This info is freely available on the internet if you search. My laptop is a HP Pavilion so ESC is the button I use. Keep tapping the relevant key until it opens up the Bios screen. Within the BIOS you will see a section that refers to BOOT. Select from the available boot options, USB needs to be showing, confirm and exit. Restart your computer. Follow the instructions but make sure you format all your computer drives during this process (this worked for me). Also make sure you have backed up all data off you computer because this process will delete it all. If your serial number is hard baked into your computer BIOS the installation will pick it up automatically. If you have a separate serial key you will be asked for it. Please be aware whichever version of W10 or 11 (Home or Pro) you have attached to the computer or on a separate serial key, is the version that you will load onto your computer. To upgrade to Pro from Home you will need to purchase a separate serial key.

Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

Hi, thanks for your reply but it doesn't seem to address my query.

To download the ISO file for Windows 11 23H2 from the MS site we are presented with 3 methods.

    1. Windows 11 installation assistant.
    2. Create Windows 11 installation media
    3. Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices

I am one of those naughty boys who refuse to bend to MS demand of throwing my perfectly good laptop away and buying a new one. I created a bootable USB stick for the previous version (22H2) around 12 months ago and loaded it into my laptop without issue. My laptop has not missed a beat since. Now there is a new version available, 23H2. I would like to upgrade to this at my own risk, of course. Option 1 checks my hardware and thus prevents the download. Option 2 allows the creation of a bootable USB stick but after booting the laptop with this it only loads up version 22H2. even though it is the download from the current 23H2 page. Option 3 asks that I select the edition I require, Multi edition, and then select the language. As per my previous post the selections are English (United States) and English (International). Just a reminder, my laptop is set to English (United Kingdom). As I understand it, using a different language to my laptop will render problems with various apps on my laptop.

So my questions are: Why does it load up 22H2 when downloaded from the MS 23H2 page, I would prefer to use this option, and where is the language selection for English (United Kingdom) should I use this option.

For clarity I understand that using W11 on my laptop is likely to cause irreparable damage to my laptop, but I am prepared to take the risk.

Hi there. The problem I have is that the language available to select in the dropdown list only shows International and United States. There is no United Kingdom to select. Needles to say my laptop runs with a language selection of United Kingdom. Also, I have downloaded the 23H2 ISO with Media Creation off MS website but it only installs version 22H2.

    Any ideas?

    Andrew
