Windows plays music loud when turning on lock screen

Hello!
I like to listen to music on Spotify on my computer. When I leave my computer I turn off my headset and windows is muted. Then I lock my computer with "windows+L". After 1 minute the screen goes black, and after another 2 minutes my computer goes into sleep. At this moment, the computer starts playing Spotify loudly. It completely disregards that the computer is muted.

These two questions seems very similar, and states that this should not happen. Yet it happens all the time. I have tried uninstalling the audio-driver and restarting the machine.

    Hello,Sigrid JB

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

According to your description, the computer will suddenly play Spotify loudly when the computer goes to sleep, which does sound strange, do you have this problem when you use other web videos to play sound or other software?

I suggest you test the possible cause of the problem first by doing the following two things:

    1. Follow the stepsin this link to create a new account and check if the problem exists under the new account
    2. Open the Start menu, type Command Prompt, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. "In the Command Prompt window, type the following commands and press Enter once for each line: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\RepairSource\Windows /LimitAccess sfc /scannow

I wish you all the best and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I look forward to hearing from you which will determine where we go next!

    Best Regards,

So first I tested with youtube instead. The music began playing loudly when screen went black! So the problem is not only connected to spotify.

I was not able to do suggestion 1 as I'm on a work computer (Enterprise).

I did do suggestion 2, and after that I have not seen the same problem. Tested both with spotify and Youtube. Hopefully the problem is solved.

    Thank you. Regards Sigrid
