Purchased used PC, the Factory reset option won't work. I've tried the hold shift/power/restart option. After pressing erase everything the monitor shuts off and the blue light flashes. After giving the PC some time I have to turn it back on and there is no change.

Greetings, Pete! My name is Arif, and I will assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. Have you tried resetting your PC from the computer settings > System > Recovery and clicking on Reset PC?

If the reset still doesn't work, please follow the steps below:

    • Open Start, search for “Command Prompt”, and run it as administrator.
    • In the Command Prompt, type dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter.
    • Wait for the process to finish, then reboot your PC.

If the issue persists, try Windows’ Startup Repair:

    a. Go to Settings > System > Recovery.

    b. Next to “Advanced Startup”, click “Restart Now”.

    c. Choose “Restart Now” in the open prompt.

    d. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

    e. Follow on-screen instructions to complete the repair process.

If none of these solutions work, and if you have important data on your computer, your Windows image may be corrupt. In that case, it's recommended to back up your important data and perform a clean install of Windows.
