Microsoft Power Tools & batch resize: do JPEGS experience lossy-ness?

When using Microsoft Power Tools to batch resize JPEGs (specifically, enlarge them), do they experience any loss of quality?

Obviously, I know that a small image of low resolution will look worse when enlarged. But if I want to slightly enlarge an image that's already pretty big, will the act of resizing with Power Tools introduce any additional image degradation?

THANKS!

Photoshop has many built-in scripts for things like batch resizing images usually accessible from File - Scripts - Image Processor, but you can find more information n that on the Adobe Forums.

    THANK YOU, DaveM121 -

When you say "expensive and complex software", does that include Photoshop? Because I have that. But unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't have batch resize/rename features. Or is it not capable of what I'm assuming? Or am I just asking dumb, newbie questions? Apologies if that's the case!!!

    THANKS,

    nakivad

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Enlarging image files with any software may produce artifacts or degradation in the file because basically you are getting the software to add pixels where there are none and it is really only expensive and complex software that has the algorithms to do that correctly
