Memory leak issue in explorer.exe windows 11 23H2 OS Build 22631.2506

This issue started when I just updated to Windows 22h2 for "Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5031455)" and I found Windows Explorer is not running properly. The memory usage leaks, when I open and close it the RAM used will not really go down, and it will nest continuously larger if I repeat keep opening it. I have done everything from windows update, sfc / scannow, DISM Driver updates, to in in place upgrades and the results are the same. Until now I use the Windows version 11 23H2 OS Build 22631.2506.

For your information, I use Lenovo Yoga 7i leptop with 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1260P 2.10 GHz and Intel iris xe. I hope someone can help me because it's very annoying. I can only rely on restart task and rammap to solve it temporarily.

I beg you for help, I really like Microsoft products and hope they can be even better

This has been an issue for almost 6 months now for me and just wanted to chip in and say it's also happening on my Lenovo Legion with i7-13700HX and RTX 4060 - a completely different system to the ones mentioned above. If you repeatedly close and reopen File Explorer, the memory usage goes up by 20 MB each time. You can restart the task in task manager to reset the RAM usage, but you shouldn't have to do this.

There is 100% a memory leak in file explorer but Microsoft, being one of the most lazy and unprofessional companies on the planet, still hasn't noticed it.

Until this issue finds a resolution, I have a quick workaround to quickly clean the leaks out of memory.

Create a new desktop shortcut and enter the following as the location of the item:

    C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c taskkill /f /im explorer.exe & start explorer.exe

Name the shortcut whatever you please, I call mine "Restart File Explorer".

Granted, this will also close down any open File Explorer windows. However, it will immediately clean up the cache of all the Windows Explorer/File Explorer in-memory copies (leaks).

Cmd.exe /c will execute the commands following and then exit the console shell.

Taskkill /f /im explorer.exe is a forceful (/f) shutdown of the image name (/im) of the process explorer.exe

& start explorer.exe is a second command line. Although explorer will restart automatically, this restarts it faster.

    Thanks for the Attention,

I already restart explorer.exe in the task manager and did the windows update troubleshooter you have suggested, but it didn't work at all. I am very hesitant to do a clean boot. The information I got some services there is very important and vulnerable when turned off, and there are reports of some users also mentioning that many problems arise after a clean boot. So I dare not do a clean boot.

I hope you have another solution to my problem. If there is indeed a bug in my version of Windows (11 23H2 OS Build 22631.2506), I will feel more at ease and will be happy to wait for Microsoft to fix it.

Tried all of them and my solution is to downgrade to Windows 10.
    Windows 11 sucks.

I'm on 22631.2715 and explorer has the same issue in this version. I'm managing my photos that are being uploaded to OneDrive, it started getting slower and slower to respond to move/rename/copy requests..checked Task manager and out of the 64GB or RAM on my system, Explorer is currently using 30GB of it and it's still going up! ****!!
