Smartphone won't connect with my PC

I have the problem that I can't transfer any data between my PC and smartphone, since my smartphone isn't recognised anymore. I did some digging and fixed the problem that my base drivers were missing (at least it isn't showing up anymore in the device manager). Besides that I tried to use other ports and other cables but to no avail. My smartphone also charges once it is plugged into my PC but I won't get the menu to select the transer or options.

I'm thankful for any help.

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

From your description, it seems that your phone can charge but cannot recognize the USB connection. This could be due to some settings issues on your phone. You may need to enable USB debugging mode and then reinsert the USB cable to see if the issue is resolved.

To enable Developer Options and USB debugging on an Android phone, follow these steps:

    1. Go to Settings on your phone.
    2. Scroll down and tap on About phone.
    3. Look for Build number and tap on it multiple times until you see a message saying "You are now a developer!"
    4. Go back to Settings and you should now see Developer options.
    5. Tap on Developer options and toggle on USB debugging.

Note: The exact steps may vary slightly depending on the Android version and phone model.

    Then check again.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

    Best regards

I tried that but once again there wasn't any menu and my Smartphone still won't show up neither in the Explorer nor in the Device Manager.

I'm terribly sorry. I was just to stupid to check every USB-C cable. Apparently the two I tried were both unable to transfer data. I'm sorry for the inconvience and I wish you the best.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

Have you tried connecting your phone to another computer to see if the same issue exists? This can help determine if the problem is with the phone or the computer.
