Should I upgrade to Windows 11?

I want to know if I should upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10. My brother (know it all) constantly says "We don't need it", even though he says that for everything, but that's besides the point. With 2024 approaching (December 24, 2023 as I write this), Windows 10 will only have one year of support left, and I don't wanna risk EOL issues. I know on one hand, I will have support, updates, and stability, but on the other, I will have to adjust and get used to the new UI, including also looking for program compatibility, though I think that's been solved with Windows 11 being built on Windows 10 kernel. On my profile, I use my PC for gaming, video editing, and virtualization (e.g. Dolphin, VMWare). My brother uses his for Game Design and Music Production.

I'm still leaning on upgrading anyway, but I just want to see from others if Windows 11 is recommended, so I can get the greenlight. Any feedback will be appriciated!

HI, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

It depends on your hardware really, if your hardware is compatible, you probably should upgrade to Windows 11, admittedly it does take time to get used to Windows 11 after using Windows 10, 11 is very different, but Windows 11 is actually a great operating system, but in the long run, it is a personal choice, you still have until October 2025 before support for Windows 10 runs out, if you do decide to upgrade to Windows 11, you have a 10 day time period to roll back to Windows 10 if you do not like Windows 11 or if it is causing problems on your PC.

Click your Start Button, then just type msinfo and press Enter, please provide a screenshot of the resulting System Information window.

I waited for months to upgrade to Windows 11 even after being offered it several times.

Now that I have done the upgrade, it was rather painful.

    1. I had to upgrade Intel UHD Graphics 600 driver. I was successful.
    2. I had to try to upgrade/replace ssudbus.sys and ssudmdm.sys drivers from Samsung. No luck.

It was not what i expected.

So memory integrity will never be activated.

If my computer goes belly up, what do I do? Sue?

Thank you for the screenshot, you have great hardware, your system will have no problem running Windows 11, I do not foresee any problems.

I updated all my laptops to Windows 11 when it was initially released even the one that was not compatible and I have not had any problems with any of my laptops.

You have plenty of time before they deprecate Windows 10, but if you are going to upgrade, keep a watch for any news of them stopping the free upgrade option.
