Yet another PC problem. The latest Nvidia Game Ready driver won't install. I keep getting the message "installation can't continue; an error occurred". Tried everything I saw online and am wondering if my RTX 2060 is just too outdated. Can someone please help me? Can I even open Minecraft or Blender without anything else going wrong?

That’s good. I was thinking perhaps it was downloading the incorrect version.

If you install an older driver does the latest one then install?

You might have to reinstall an older driver via the device’s entry within device manager.

    Right click device.

    Choose update driver.

Choose ‘browse my computer for drivers’.

Choose ‘let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer’.

Choose the compatible hardware from the list, then choose next.

Choose one of the older drivers from the list shown, then click next.

This will then reinstall the driver.

Are you using any third party antivirus software? If yes then perhaps this is blocking the install.

There may also be a problem with that particular driver. Have you checked the nVidia forum?

Yes, I'm using the Nvidia geforce app to install the drivers. As far as I know, the driver is the latest one. I just don't know why it isn't installing...

DDU is a well known program & I use it whenever I have problems with graphics drivers. If you prefer not to use it then are you using the nVidia Gforce experience program to find & install the correct driver?

I'm running Windows 10, 22H2. And the screen just said "An error occurred". Couldn't find an error code anywhere when I looked and there's a thunderstorm rolling in so I shouldn't turn on my computer yet. Already tried everything else and don't feel comfortable installing unfamiliar software.

Hello, I’m Virginia, a fellow user like yourself.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems. May I ask which Windows 10/11 build are you running - 22H2 (Win 10/Win 11) or 23H2 (Win 11)?

    What was the error code?

Please try cleanly uninstalling the graphics card drivers then installing them direct from nVidia.
